Do you have memories, photos, stories and pots from George Jones & Sons and Crescent Pottery Days? If so, we’d like to meet you!
Long before the bamboo arrived, this site formed part of Stoke-on-Trent’s pottery story. It was once home to George Jones and Sons and Trent / Crescent Potteries. Generations of people worked in and around the buildings that once stood here.
For Heritage Open Days, we’re opening the Parklet and particularly want to hear from people who remember the site as it used to be.
– Did you work here, or know somebody who did?
– Do you remember the pottery buildings before they disappeared?
– Did you live nearby or have family connections to the site?
– Do you have photographs, documents, stories or memories tucked away at home?
– Do you have any ceramics that were produced here?
We’re especially interested to see examples of ceramics made at the Trent / Crescent Potteries and to hear any stories connected with them.
Today the site is being transformed into a bamboo parklet – a place for creativity, growing, nature, making, volunteering and community activity – adding a new chapter to a site that has been part of Stoke’s working landscape for generations.
