Who are we
We’re a community interest company with a mission to marry the arts, communities of North Staffs and professionals from across all sectors in the exploration and collaborative adventures around growing, building and creating from bamboo.
The organisation has grown out of a project which brought together artists, academics, architects, engineers and communities to grow, build and consider what next for bamboo here, connected to an international community. This project is Imagine Bamboo led by independent Creative Director: Orit Azaz and Imagineer with Appetite and Arts Keele and many more in North Staffordshire from 2020-2023. Brilliant Bamboo, formed in Aug 2023, is a not-for-profit and social enterprise that develops projects with a range of partners and communities: making a positive contribution to the lives of communities and the planet.
Our ambition is to create a bamboo park and community space for the area
Through our activities, we will:
• create space for community, arts, science, nature, and physical activities through play at the site(s) for all generations.
• create new ambitious structures with engineers, artists, and our community.
• contribute to the improvement of lives and the area.
• develop environmentally positive projects that remediate land and remove carbon.
